Abstract
Wrist movement is difficult to convey with a small set of conventional angle plots. This talk explores an alternative representation based on the axis and angle of rotation, and asks how it can be made easier to interpret visually. A procedurally generated orientation dataset is used to train a dimensionality-reduction model, which then maps wearable measurements into a three-dimensional view. A human wrist case study illustrates how this approach can reveal posture clusters and transitions over time, offering a way to examine movement beyond familiar flexion-extension and radial-ulnar deviation plots.
