Abstract
The position of the limbs contains information that broad sleep-position labels can miss. This talk investigates how extremity orientations can support recognition of sleeping poses using wearable sensing. It introduces the motivation for examining posture in relation to musculoskeletal questions and considers how sensor measurements can be translated into clinically meaningful features for classification. The emphasis is on the feasibility of distinguishing more detailed body configurations, providing a methodological foundation for exploring posture in greater detail.
